From Matilda's Mouth

When asking Brett to burn a DVD: "Daddy, can you fire that DVD
for me please?"

Matilda's current favorite song is One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful." We have been playing it nonstop. I started singing it on our walk tonight and she says, "it's okay mommy, I'll handle that song."

Instructing me and Brett:

"okay, hold hands and look at his eyes mommy. okay, now kiss. not like that! tilt your heads and kiss. I'm pretending it's like your wedding."

After we successfully follow all her instructions, she gives us two thumbs up and says "touchdown."

First chalk

Mommy made me take my pacie outside so that I wouldn't lick the chalk... Yummy!

From Matilda's Mouth (She's had some good ones lately...)

Going to bed one night:

Mommy: Good night Matilda

Matilda: I want to go horseback riding one day.

Mommy: Okay, but not tonight.

Matilda: (exasperated) Not tonight. Soon. With Riley. I'll write her a note about it.

Mommy: okay, sweet dreams.

Matilda: you know what?

Mommy: what? It's really bed time.

Matilda: I touched my eyeball today. I was curious what it felt like.

Mommy: what did it feel like?

Matilda: wet.

Mommy: good night Matilda.

Matilda: Sadie don't touch that babydoll.

Mommy: I won't let her hurt it.

Matilda: OK. don't let her slobber it.

Mommy: I won't.

Matilda to Sadie: This is the only toy available to you in my room.

Matilda has told me every morning that it is "so amazing" when new fairies come visit her fairy garden and leave glitter fairy dust behind.

Thanks to "Monkey George" episodes, she has been obsessed with announcing that worms eat the food and then poop to make compost.

One morning she did the 2 finger point at her eyes and then at Daddy's eyes and announced, "Daddy, I've got my eye on you."

Family swim!

After swim class we did family swim. It was Sadie's first time in the pool! Sadie wasn't sure at first but took 2.5 seconds to decide that the pool was tons of fun!

OMG!

A fairy came to the fairy garden that I made with Mimi!!!!! We could tell by the glitter in the frog bath!!!! We think they came in to keep their wings dry during the storm last night!!!
